About the record:
Beijinho do Brasil kicks off our inaugural release with two dynamite Brazilian edits from São Paulo DJ and producer, Ney Faustini. Originally created exclusively for his set a few years back at Dekmantel in São Paulo, these road-tested, tropical dancefloor sure-shots are now available on vinyl for the first time. Ney describes his approach to creating edits as one of reverence for the original material. Both tracks have been gently reshaped with subtle nips and tucks, along with added beats and percussion, to keep the energy flowing while still respecting the essence of the original tunes. Side A kicks things off with an eternal DJ favorite from the legendary Elis Regina, "Aprendendo Jogar", a Brazilian boogie gem originally released in 1980. Side B keeps the heat on with a rework of former Secos e Molhados frontman, Ney Matogrosso, and his "Promessas Demais" from 1982.
Early Feedback:
"Love these! If this is a sign of what's to come, I can't wait!"
- Rocky (X-Press 2)
"Great record - perfect for my beach club sets."
Tigerbalm (Ubiquity Records)
"Loving the first release! Shall be hammering it this weekend!"
- Danny Ward (Moodymanc / Balophonic)
"The momentum in both tracks is great and 'Promessas' will be getting heavy plays in Ibiza!" - Russ Forman aka Dribller (Resident, Pikes Ibiza)
Black vinyl, small hole, 2-sided, plays at 45rpm.
